Senior Web Developer
Pebble Beach Systems is looking for an experienced Web Developer who will champion and drive forward new web applications for our latest broadcast automation products. We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic person who is really up for an exciting new role with the ability to start web app development from scratch.
We are looking for -
• Broad range knowledge of web technologies and understanding of associated strengths and weaknesses
• Experience with developing real time web applications
• Desire to choose the right approach to solving the requirements with the technical ability to evaluate/prototype and present suggested solutions starting from scratch
• Positive, dedicated self-motivated web developer. Able to work alone or in a team
• Experience of developing software through a complete development cycle
• Must be outgoing and an exceptional communicator
• Good experience in Time Management and Effort Prioritisation
• Good analytical and logical problem solving skills
• Online examples of work before interview would be advantageous
Responsibilities & duties:
• Be the technical authority for Web development at Pebble Beach Systems across all products
• Design from the ground-up the web interfaces including server side components and elegant user interfaces using the latest technologies (e.g. Silverlight/Adobe Flex etc.)
• Investigate, design and implement solutions to problems and new feature requirements.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the software and business
• Find, report and fix defects, and work with support team to help diagnose and fix customer issues when needed
Experience and qualifications:
• 1st class or 2:1 degree in software development or a related subject essential
• 6-10 years' experience of developing advanced web applications essential, ideally real-time applications with both front end and server side experience
• Server side experience of interfacing to more than just a database
• Web based video playback and manipulation experience highly desirable
• MS SQL Server experience essential
• Experience with video or broadcast industry a distinct advantage
Technical Skills:
• Broad range of web technologies. Including, but not limited to: c#, php, java, Silverlight, flex, C++, SQL, html, css and the ability to identify the best tool for the requirement
• Experience in producing elegant user Interfaces (using Adobe Flex or similar)
• Experience with web services such as REST and SOAP would be a distinct advantage
• Good understanding of web system deployments, system architecture and on-going maintenance
